To properly maintain your d’aplomb Himalayan salt lamp, please follow these guidelines:
Never wash you d’aplomb Himalayan salt lamp. To clean, switch lamp off, unplug, then wipe with a clean dry cloth.
The air purifying effect of the salt lamp is only effective with the lamp is on.
The heat from the light bulb prevents the lamp from absorbing moisture.
Do not leave your lamp in a humid room, on a window sill, in a bathroom, or anywhere with a lot of moisture.
Do not leave your lamp outside where it is exposed to the elements.
When not in use for a long period of time, disconnect your power cable, remove it from the lamp, and store the salt lamp and base in a plastic bag to help prevent the lamp from absorbing moisture.
If your salt lamp is running, leaking, or pooling water this is generally due to it being switched off for extended periods, especially in areas of high humidity. To remedy, place the lamp under direct sunlight for 4 to 5 hours and gently brush off any excess crystals. Wipe gently with a clean cloth and turn the lamp back on.
